Chad Henne leads Jaguars to win over Titans

Jacksonville has snapped a seven game losing streak. A week after losing Blaine Gabbert to injury the Jaguars entered Sunday’s game against Tennessee with Chad Henne as their quarterback.

Henne proved he had some of the traits needed to win in the NFL.

The free agent acquisition last off-season was 17 of 26 for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cecil Shorts caught 4 of those passes as he finished with 105 yards and a touchdown.  It marked Shorts third game with 100 plus yards receiving. Henne’s fourth quarter touchdown pass to Justin Blackmon gave the Jaguars a 21-12 lead.

That is not to say that the Titans did not make an effort. The Titans cut the lead to 21-19 when Jake Locker found Kenny Britt for a 6-yard touchdown pass with 4:52 left. Locker and the Titans would get the ball again but Dwight Lowery intercepted a tipped pass over the middle to seal the win for Jacksonville.

Jacksonville is now 2-9 on the season but are interested in seeing what Henne can offer the team going forward. Whether it is just talk or their lack of excitement about the upcoming draft class is unknown.

The loss dropped Tennessee to 4-7 and would seemingly kill their already slim playoff hopes.
