Gabbert intends to play against Packers

Injured Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert intends to play Sunday. Gabbert is dealing with a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder.

Since Gabbert’s throwing shoulder and arm are not affected it stands to reason that he should be able to play. Gabbert though has not topped 200 yards passing since the first week of the season and without running back Maurice Jones-Drew his now without one of his top targets.

On the season Gabbert has thrown for 906 yards and 9 touchdowns while throwing 6 interceptions. Gabbert has been sacked 15 times, twelfth most in the NFL.

Jacksonville is trying to figure out if Gabbert is capable of leading an NFL offense or not. The second year player is backed up by Chad Henne, formerly of the Miami Dolphins. Should Gabbert incur any problems Henne would step in to fill his role.
