The University of Connecticut dismantled Notre Dame on Tuesday night claiming their second straight NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. The UConn women’s win came one night after the men defeated Kentucky.
Tuesday’s game between the Huskies and Fighting Irish marked the first time in the NCAA Women’s  Tournament that two undefeated teams faced one another.
The UConn women held a 45-38 lead at halftime but pulled away in the second half and posted a 79-58 win. For Notre Dame it’s another tough loss to the Huskies who handed them their last loss a year ago in the Final Four.
