Notre Dame vs. USC point spread, line and preview

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play against the USC Trojans Saturday night at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The game will be played at 8 p.m. on ABC. For Notre Dame it the final obstacle in a season that could see them win the National Championship.

Notre Dame is a 5.5 point favorite in the game. The spread is surprisingly small considering the Fighting Irish are ranked No. 1 and USC (7-4) is ranked. The over/under or total points scored is set at 45.5 for tonight’s game.

This game has been talked about in regards to Notre Dame’s season for weeks. Now that the Fighting Irish are on the cusp of playing in the national championship game it has added importance. USC will have a freshman quarterback under center as Max Wittek plays for the injured Matt Barkley.

Under different conditions last season, USC defeated Notre Dame 31-17 in South Bend. USC has won 9 of the last 10 meetings between teh schools.
