Javier Baez is starting at second base for Triple-A Iowa on Thursday.
The 21-year-old Baez had been playing short stop for Iowa but with the acquisition of Addison Russell and the presence of Starlin Castro at the big leagye level his path to the majors is as a second baseman.

Baez is hitting just .240/.305/.449 this season but has 14 homers, 55 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
Depending on how quickly he picks up second base will determine how quickly the Cubs call him up to the majors.
