The New York Mets have placed pitcher Dillon Gee on the 15-day disabled list.
Gee as a strained lat which should take him out of action for a while. His placement on the DL has been retroactive to May 11 but it is unlikely that he will be ready regardless.
The Mets had tabbed Gee to start in Thursday’s game against the New York Yankees. He pitched six innings throwing 81 pitches in his last outing against the Philadelphia Phillies and was 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA on the season.
Jacob deGrom will start in Gee’s place for the time being.
