The San Francisco Giants have reached a deal with free agent Mike Morse.
Morse, 31, will earn $6 million in 2014 under terms of a one-year deal. His new deal also includes a few performance-based incentives.
The Giants are planning to play Morse in left field while Brandon Belt occupies first base. They are hoping to catch some lightning in a bottle with Morse’s power swing. He appeared in 88 games last season compiling a .215/.270/.381 line with 13 home runs and 27 RBI.
