Jason Kubel is out of the desert. The outfielder was designated for assignment earlier this week and has now been traded to Cleveland.
The Arizona Diamondbacks designated the 31-year-old for assignment earlier this week to make room on the active roster for pitcher David Holmberg.

Kubel hit a mere .220 with five home runs and 32 RBI for the Diamondbacks in 89 games before being DFA’d.
The deal between Arizona and Cleveland includes a minor leaguer going to Arizona as well as cash. Kubel has a $1 million buyout for the 2014 season.Full details of the deal will be announced early Friday.
