The St. Louis Cardinals activated catcher Yadier Molina from the disabled list on Thursday.
Molina has been out of action since July 30 with a knee sprain. He will start Thursday game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Cardinals figure to give Molina a tad more rest then others but his .330/.374/.479 line with eight home runs and 54 RBI provides a big improvement to the lineup.
Currently the Cardinals and Reds are locked into the two NL Wild Card spots, with the Cardinals six games ahead of third place Arizona.
