The fractured hand which was a result of a punch to his locker will sideline Nationals reliever Ryan Mattheus for 4-6 weeks.
Mattheus will not need surgery but will miss time with his fractured right pitching hand. Once Mattheus’ hand heals he will have to build up arm strength.
Last season Mattheus was a valuable part of the Nationals bullpen but this year he had compiled a 4.96 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP in 11 appearances.
