Dallas Keuchel will face the winner of tonight’s  game between the Yankees and Indians.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch announced the 2015 Cy Young winner as the starter of Game 1 of the ALCS on Wednesday. The announcement was not a surprise after Hinch went to Justin Verlander in the middle innings of Monday’s Game 4 win over the Red Sox.

Keuchel looked to be in good form in his Game 2 start in which he allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings while striking out seven and allowing just three hits.

A.J. Hinch says Dallas Keuchel will start Game 1 of the ALCS and Justin Verlander will start Game 2.

Justin Verlander will follow in Game 2 for the Astros. According to Jake Kaplan the Astros are currently planning on keeping three catchers on the roster for the ALCS and are considering Colin McHugh, Tyler Clippard and Francis Martes as they may opt to carry 12 pitchers on the roster.
