Braves unlikely to put Swanson on NLDS roster

Dansby Swanson’s chances to be on the Braves NLDS roster for Thursday appear to be almost nonresistant.

Chances that Swanson would be on the Braves roster for the NLDS always seemed slimmed but were all but evaporated after he did not take any swings on Monday.

With Swanson out the Braves will continue to use Charlie Culberson at shortstop. Ironically Culberson will now return to Los Angeles to play against his former team for whom he had a surprising NLCS for prior to being traded to the Braves in a deal that would send Matt Kemp to the Dodgers.

It is far from a given that Swanson would be on the Braves NLCS roster if they were to get past the Dodgers.
