Danny Espinosa has signed a minor league deal with the Yankees. The deal for the 30-year-old includes an invitation to spring training.
Espinosa could be a candidate to make the Yankees opening day roster and gain early season at-bats while the team tries to keep the service clock of some of their younger talent from starting.
According to a source, Danny Espinosa has agreed to a deal with the Yankees and will be a non-roster invitee at camp. He will compete for the second base job this spring.

Expectations for Espinosa should be tempered after he hit just .173/.245/.278 between the Angels, Mariners and Rays a season ago.
Espinosa did manage 24 home runs with the Nationals as recently as 2016 so perhaps the Yankees can catch lightning in a bottle here.
Know by some for his facial hair, Espinosa did save his face when playing for the Rays last season. The Yankees have a no beard policy so expecting anything past a mustache is too much.
