Ervin Santana will start Tuesday’s AL Wild Card game for the Twins, opposing him on the mound will be Luis Severino of the Yankees.
Santana was no-doubt the choice for the Twins posting a 16-8 record, 3.28 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 167/61 K/BB ratio over 211 1/3 innings during the regular season. He threw five scoreless innings in his final start Thursday against the Indians.
Severino has pitched 193 1/3 innings totaling a 14-6 record, 2.98 ERA and a 1.040 WHIP.
