The Twins have signed a trio of pitchers to minor league deals. Marcus Walden, Raul Fernandez and David Martinez were all signed by the Twins and figure to add organizational depth this season.
Walden, 27, was released by the Reds early in 2015 and ended up pitching in the Independent Atlantic League last year. He has yet to reach the major league level and does not figure to make much of an impact should he some how appear on the Twins this season.
Likewise the Twins added right hander Raul Fernandez to a deal also. Last year he pitched at Double-A Birmingham posting a 4.26 ERA in 61 1/3 innings of work.
Martinez, 28, spent last year with the Rangers splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A. The last time Martinez appeared at the big league level was 2014 with the Astros. In his career he has made just seven big league appearances posting a 6.50 ERA.
