The Washington Nationals have placed starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg on the disabled list with neck tightness.

Strasburg may only miss the minimum 15 days since its only labeled s tightness and not a strain. He left Friday night’s start after just one inning of work and is just 3-5 with a 6.55 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP on the season.

The Nationals expect better out of the 26-year-old right hander and will give him some time to regroup.

A.J. Cole or Taylor Jordan figure to be the replacement for Strasburg in the Nationals rotation. The team has recalled Taylor Hill from Triple-A Syracuse for the time being to fill out their 25 man roster.

Hill owns a 4.35 ERA in 51 2/3 innings of work at Triple-A.
