Braves among teams showing interst in Trevor Cahill of Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks awarded starting pitcher Trevor Cahill with a spot in their rotation to start the season, however it remains possible that he never makes a start for the team.

Among the teams interested in Cahill are the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves have some rotation concerns with Mike Minor unlikely to start the season. The Braves have been auditioning Wandy Rodriguez, Mike Foltynewicz and Eric Stults as candidates for two of their rotation spots. If acquired Cahill will take one of those spots.

Cahill is coming off a down season. In 32 games – including 17 starts – Cahill was 3-12 with a 5.61 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP.

The departure of Cahill would open up a rotation spot for Archie Bradley with the Diamondbacks.
