Victor Martinez believes that he will be ready for Opening Day.
Martinez, 36, believes he will be ready for Opening Day as he recovers from meniscus surgery in his left knee.
Coming off a season in which he led the league in OPS at .974 and OBP at .407 the Tigers will again count on the veteran to be a key part of their offensive output.
There had been question as to whether or not Martinez would be ready for the start of the season but it appears he will be ready to go. He hit a career high 32 home runs last season but expecting him to match those numbers again may be a bit too optimistic.
