The Texas Rangers have removed any uncertainty about the status of third baseman Adrian Beltre beyond the 2015 season. On Monday the club picked up his $16 million vesting option for the 2016 season.

Beltre, 35, would have had to reach 586 pate appearances in order for the option to vest but now the Rangers are going to remove those requirements and bring him back.

The Rangers have previously expressed interest in having Betre retire as a member of the club. Since joining the club he has hit.315/.364/.530 over four seasons while averaging 29 home runs and 94 RBI.
