The Diamondbacks have signed veteran infielder Nick Punto to a minor league deal.
Punto, 37, will be invited to spring training where he will attempt to win a bench spot this spring. Coming off a season in which he hit .207/.296/.293 over 73 games with the Athletics it is just as possible that Punto is t the end of his rope.
Given the small financial commitment the Diamondbacks have nothing to lose.
