The Mets are interested in infielder Stephen Drew, if his price tag drops.
If this story sounds like it was from last year that’s because the Mets had the same thinking back then.
Coming off a season in which Drew hit just .162/.237/.299 while playing 85 games for the Red Sox and Yankees you can see why the Mets want him to lower his price from the reported $7-10 million he has been seeking.
Stephen Drew is seeking upwards of $7 million for 2015; Mets could be interested if the price drops significantly, but not holding vigil.

How low the Mets want Drew to go remains to be seen. Wherever he signs he will be taking a one-year prove it deal in hopes of cashing in big next season.
Wilmer Flores is currently slated to start the season at shortstop for the Mets.
