Rafael Furcal’s chances of being ready for opening day is now up in the air. The free agent infielder tore a hamstring while playing in the Dominican Winter League.
Furcal, 37, has played just nine games over the last two years due to injury – missing time last year due to his left hamstring. Tommy John surgery has also sidelined him in recent years.
