Twins pitcher Phil Hughes got a new deal from the team this week.
Hughes will get three more years with the Twins at a total value of $42 million. He is now under contract for the next five years at a total cost of $58 million.
After making the All-Star team in 2010, he fell to 4-14 with a 5.63 ERA in 2013 with the Yankees. Those final years with the Yankees were nothing short of a disaster and facilitated a move elsewhere.
With the Twins last season Hughes turned things around posting a 3.52 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 186/16 K/BB ratio across 209 2/3 innings.
