The Pittsburgh Pirates and A.J. Burnett agreed on a one-year deal on Friday reuniting the pitcher with a team with whom he pitched for in 2012 and 2013.
Burnett spent 2014 in Phiadelphia posting a 4.59 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP across 34 start.
Burnett became a free agent after he declined a $12.75 miion player option for 2015. Given that his new contract is just for $8.5 million that is a sizeable $4.25 million pay cut for the veteran right hander.
