Billy Butler is now a free agent and the Kansas City Royals will need to find a replacement for him in their lineup.
One internal option the Royals have talked about is Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard according to Bob Nightengale.
Howard has a staggering $60 million left on his contract but the Royals would consider adding him if the Phillies ate enough of it.
He appeared in 153 games hitting .223/.310/.30 with 23 home runs and 95 RBI.
