It is no secret that the Philadelphia Phillies have left handed pitcher Cole Hamels on the trade market. While the Phillies were unable to find a trade partner a week ago, it is quite possible that a move happens this winter.

According to Jim Salisburgy of CSNPhilly.com, the Phillies want three prospects for Hamels, Salisburgy adds that the Phillies want “two that can play right now and another that isn’t far away.”

The Phillies have Hamels under contract for four more years at $96 million.

Coming off perhaps his best overall season, the 30-year old Hamels has a limited no trade clause. Both the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox have been linked to Hamels. In 30 starts last season he had a 2.46 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP over 204 2/3 innings of work.
