Dan O’Dowd steps down as Rockies GM

Dan O’Dowd is stepping down as the general manager of the Colorado Rockies.

O’Dowd has been the general manager of the Rockies since 1999 but with the teams recent struggles his eventual departure from the role was to be expected. Assistant general manager Bill Geivett is also resigning.

That leaves farm director Jeff Bridich as O’Dowd’s replacement according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com. Bridich will be the third GM in Rockies history.

The Rockies have not had a winning season since 2010.
