Everth Cabrera was arrested Wednesday morning for during while intoxicated with marijuana.
Cabrera served a 50-game suspension last season as part of the Biogenesis scandal and his production on the field simply has not warranted the trouble.
TMZ reports that Cabrera had blood drawn which confirmed that he had been using marijuana and was then cited. He was released to his mother-in-law.
Currently Cabrera is on the disabled list with a strained hamstring and was questionable to return. This may end his season and time with the Padres. He is arbitration eligible this winter and would be seeking to increase his salary beyond the $2.45 million he made this season.
Cabrera was hitting just .232/.272/.300 in the 90 games he had played this season.
