The 2014 season for infielder Rafael Furcal is over. Next week the 36-year-old will undergo season-ending surgery to remove scar tissue from his left hamstring.
Furcal earned $3.5 million his season to produce a .171/.216/.229 line over nine games for the Marlins. He missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
The season got off to a late start for Frucal after he dealt with hamstring issues in spring training and later had an issue with his groin.
In 1614 career games Furcal owns a .281/.346/.402 line with 113 home runs, 587 RBI and 1063 runs scored.
