In the days leading up to the MLB All-Star game it will surely trend at some point. #TargetSale…. as it vote for Chris Sale as the AL’s Final Vote.
This year’s All-Star Game is at Target Field in Minnesota…. You know they have Target headquarters there and yet AL Central rival Chicago has it’s Ace pitcher using the name as a ploy for your votes. Chris Sale is the other part of this equation.
So now we have a #TargetSale. Surely some people who have no interest in baseball will either be confused or simply mad that they can not buy discounted merchandise.
Perhaps my biggest problem with the whole thing is that Sale is more than deserving of being an All-Star without the final vote.
Sale has been an All-Start the last two seasons and this year he is putting up the best numbers of his career. His ERA+ is a league best 188 and his WHIP is 0.87, again top in the league. Overall he is 8-1 with a 2.16 ERA in his 13 starts.
