The St. Louis Cardinals have placed second baseman Kolten Wong on the 15-day disabled list.
Wong has been bothered by a shoulder injury since the beginning of the month. He has struggled this season even earning a demotion to Triple-A at one point.
On the year he holds a .228/.282/.304 line. Mark Ellis figures to earn most of the playing time in Wong’s absence.
