The Baltimore Orioles have brought back pitcher Clay Rapada.
Rapada, 33, had been pitching at Triple-A Tacoma for the Seattle Mariners before earning his release. During that time he had a 4.12 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings of relief.

Previously Rapada spent the 2011 season with the Orioles appearing in 32 games at the big league level posting a 6.06 ERA. A year later he turned things around and compiled a 2.82 ERA in 70 games for the New York Yankees but he began the 2013 season in the minors. He later appeared in just four big league games in 2013 with the Cleveland Indians.
For the time being Rapada will report to Triple-A Norfolk. At best he is minor league depth.
