The Los Angeles Angels have added some pitching depth in the form of Joel Pineiro.
On Saturday the club signed Pineiro to a minor league deal. He had been released by the Chicago Cubs earlier in the week after posting a 4.43 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across 22 1/3 innings of work at their Double-A affiliate.
Pineiro pitched for the Angles in 2010 and 2011 which also marks the last time he played at the big league level. Since then he has bounced around various teams minor league systems. In 335 career games he owns a 104-93 record and a 4.41 ERA to go with a 1.35 WHIP.
