The Kansas City Royals will welcome back Yordano Ventura to the rotation on Thursday.
Ventrua only made it into the third inning during his last start on May 26 when he developed discomfort in his right elbow. That pain was diagnosed to be a valgus extension overload in the joint. An MRI later verified the stability of his ulnar collateral ligament.
The 22-year-old should be able to pitch though any pain going forward. If Ventrua is ready to go he will be facing the St. Louis cardinals in his return,
In 10 starts this season Ventura has a 3.45 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP.
