Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout hit the first walk-off home run of his career on Thursday night as the Angels defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5.

I must say I was surprised to find out that this was Trout’s first walk-off since he has virtually done everything since arriving at the big league level two years ago.

Trout’s home run cam eoff of Brad Boxberger but it should be noted that Grant Balfour really let the inning get started. Balfour allowed a hit and two walks before givign way to Boxberger who promptly served up the gopher ball.

In 40 games this season Trout is hitting .269/.357/.531 with eight home runs and 27 RBI. It is a safe bet that all of those numbers will improve as the season goes on.
