Texas Rangers pitcher Martin Perez is expected to miss at least one start after he left Saturday’s start. The Rangers are expected to place Perez on the disabled list with elbow inflammation but he should be ready to pitch once his 15 day stay is up.

Perez, 23, had been struggling of late going 0-3 with a 12.83 ERA over his last three starts. He had pitched consecutive shutouts prior to the rough patch.

With Perez out, the Rangers will recall right-hander Nick Tepesch from Triple-A Round Rock to start on Wednesday. Yu Darvish will have his next start pushed back to Friday after he threw 126 pitches in a near no-hitter the last time out.
