Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Bruce Chen was given an epidural on Tuesday for an inflamed disk in his back.
Chen, 36, has already been scratched from his scheduled start on Wednesday. In four starts this season Chen sports a 7.45 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP.

While the Royals have denied that Chen’s rotation spot is in jeopardy, they can only trot him out there so many times before they pull the plug.
