The Los Angles Angels will keep Ian Stewart in the cleanup spot for Monday’s game against the Washington Nationals.
Stewart similarly hit in the cleanup spot on Sunday after batting sixth on Saturday.
Thus far the Angels have been rewarded for placing Stewart in the lineup. In nine games this season Stewart is hitting .250/.276/.571 with a home run and two triples. He has four RBI in his 29 trips to the plate. It is a bit of a reach for a player who is a career .232 hitter and spent last season in the minors but the Angels will ride the 29-year-old while he is hot.
