Diamondbacks running out of $25 corndogs

When news of a $25 corn dog at a baseball stadium first hit the internet there were jokes everywhere. Who would pay that much for a corn dog?

Apparently everyone. So many that the Arizona Diamondbacks cannot keep Chase Field stocked with the D-Bat. (I guess it takes more work than it would appear to make a 18-inch corndog?)

“We sold 300 on the first night,” team president Derrick Hall said, via ESPN. “And we only sold 100 last night because we ran out. We can’t make them fast enough. We have 100 ready for tonight and we’ll have 100 ready for tomorrow. And then when the team goes on the road, we’ll get to work to make more.”

About 300 sold on opening night with some fans waiting up to an hour to buy one. Currently the D-Bat is sold at only two concession areas, something the Diamondbacks will look at expanding upon when the team returns from a road trip.
