Washington Nationals manager Matt Williams has confirmed that catcher Wilson Ramos will need surgery on his left hand.
Ramos will undergo hamate bone surgery on his left hand causing him to miss the next four to five weeks according to Wilson. The Washington Post lists him as out for as long as eight weeks.
Regardless of the exact timetable it is safe to say that the Nationals lineup will suffer from his absence. He hit .272/.307/.470 with 16 home runs and 5 RBI across 78 games a season ago.
On his weekly paid appearance on 106.7, Matt Williams confirmed Wilson Ramos will undergo surgery. Williams expects four to five weeks.

With Ramos out of the picture for the foreseeable future, Jose Lobaton will handle the majority of the catching duties for the Nationals.
