The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired catcher Koyie Hill from the Washington Nationals for a player to be named later.
Last week the Phillies released non-roster invitee to camp Lou Marson.
The move was made to allow”regular playing time at Double A Reading and Triple A Lehigh Valley will be given to Phillies catching prospects Tommy Joseph and Cameron Rupp” reports CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury.
A ten-year veteran, Hill is a career .206 hitter and is best known for his defense. The 35-year-old has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins.
