Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin is expected to begin the 2014 season on the disabled list. He has been dealing with a right shoulder strain and inflammation since late February.
While Chacin threw at 90 feet Monday and will throw at 120 feet on Wednesday the Rockies are being cautious.
“If I start feeling good, I’ll keep moving [back],” Chacin said. “The good thing is I’m feeling good. My ball is coming out good. Everything feels fine, I feel strong. I’m very happy everything is working out.”
Chacin made 31 starts last season finishing with a 3.47 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP.
“I’m thinking about the long term, not rushing and getting set back,” Chacin said.
