The Atlanta Braves were defeated 4-1 by the Boston Red Sox on Friday but there were plenty of positives to take away from the game.

Alex Wood pitched three scoreless innings on Friday bringing his spring total to five. Wood allowed two hits and struck out two against a Red Sox lineup which featured many of its projected starters.

The left hander is competing for a spot in the Braves rotation with Freddie Garcia.

Outfielder Jason Heyward started again and hit his second home run of the spring. He is now 5-for-20 with two RBI on the spring.
