Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Ryan Cook is dealing with inflammation in his right shoulder.
Cook, 26, will be shut down for the next week or so and the A’s do not believe it will prevent him from being ready for Opening Day.
Cook will be a couple weeks behind. He's dealing with shoulder inflammation. Melvin still thinks he can be ready by OD.

Cook should be a valuable part of the A’s bullpen ahead of closer Jim Johnson. Last season he made 71 apperances finishing with a 2.54 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. The right hander had a 67/25 K/BB ration in 2013.
