The Philadelphia Phillies have released pitcher Chad Gaudin after he failed a physical earlier this week.
Gaudin, 30, will return to the market seeking another minor league deal. The right hander had a strong 2013 season pitching for the San Francisco Giants finishing with a 3.06 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 97 innings of work.

There is no word on what caused Gaudin to fail his physical. Barring a arm injury expect him to land a deal before spring training. His ability as a swingman makes him an option for multiple teams.
