The New York Mets have signed relief pitcher Kyle Farnsworth to a minor league deal.
Farnsworth, 37, will also receive an invitation to spring training.
The Mets are buying low on Farnsworth hoping he has something left in the tank. He stands a decent chance of making the team out of spring training after having a 4.70 ERA in 38 1/3 innings of work last season for the Tampa Bay Rays and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Expect the Mets to add another veteran or two in the coming weeks as insurance for Bobby Parnell.
