The Boston Red Sox have signed pitcher Rich Hill to a minor league contract.
Hill will turn 34 in March and previously pitched with the Red Sox from 2010-2012 before going to Cleveland last year.
Joel Sherman reported that Hill’s contract is worth $840,000 and that the left hander could also earn another $500,000 in appearance bonus.

Hill could also opt out of his deal if he is not on the MLB roster by May 15th or June 30th.
During his first stint with the Red Sox, Hill appeared in 40 games posting a 1.14 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. Last seaosn he appeared in 63 games for the Indians finishing with a 6.28 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP. He did rack up 51 strike outs in 38 2/3 innings of work.
