Former major leaguer Mark Mulder is considering a comeback for the 2014 season.

Mulder has not pitched since 2008 with the St. Louis Cardinals but apparently saw something in the reliever of Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Paco Rodriguez that he could emulate and is now ready to resume his big league career.

The 36-year-old Mulder recently threw for three teams and was clocked in the 89-90 mph range reports ESPN’s Jerry Cransick.

“The best way to describe it is, the ball is coming out of my hand better now than at any point when I was in St. Louis,” Mulder said. “I wouldn’t be trying this is if I didn’t think the stuff I was throwing was good enough [to pitch in the big leagues].”
