The Miami Marlins are close to a deal with Garrett Jones.
Jones, 32, spent the 2013 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates hitting .233/.289/.419 with 15 home runs and 51 RBI in 144 games.
Signing of G. Jones by #Marlins will mean no Napoli in Miami and likely lead to a trade of @LoMoMarlins (Logan Morrison).

The deal between the Marlins and Jones is said to be worth $7-8 million. Jones becomes the latest signing for the Marlins who earlier landed catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and second baseman Rafael Furcal.
As noted by Ken Rosenthal, a deal with Jones would end the Marlins pursuit of Mike Napoli and likely lead to the trade of Logan Morrison.
