Joe Nathan signs two-year deal with Tigers

The Detroit Tigers have solved their ninth inning problem signing Joe Nathan to a two-year deal.

Nathan, 39, spent the last two seasons with the Texas Rangers picking up 80 saves with a 2.09 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP in 133 games.

The Tigers had previously spoken to Brian Wilson about a contract but Nathan is as sure of a bet as there is available. Wilson may now opt to re-sign as a setup man for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

With the Tigers as talented as ever there should be no shortage of save chances for Nathan in 2014.
